What if AI could help teachers create more space for human connection rather than less? In this interactive professional learning experience, Baker School of Education teacher education students and K–12 teacher alumni will explore practical, human-centered ways to use AI to foster classroom belonging, student voice, relationships, and inclusive learning. Participants will examine real classroom scenarios, consider both the possibilities and limitations of AI, and experiment with AI-supported strategies that keep students—and the teacher-student relationship—at the center. Together, we will ask: How can we use AI to enhance the human experiences that make students feel known, valued, and connected? Participants will receive a $30 Tango gift card for your participation! To claim your gift card please be sure to fill in your email and address. If you would like to request a disability-related accommodation or accessibility information, please contact JuQuay Collyear at jcollyear@american.edu. Requests should be made by October 21, 2026.
